        32nd SEA-SPIN ** SPIN/JASPIC SPI Symposium 2001 Fall **

SPI Symposium 2001 Fall Software Process Improvement in Japan Call for Participation
Co-Sponsored by SEA Process SIG (SEA-SPIN) Japan SPI Consortium (JASPIC) Last year, METI announced their idea of "Japanized CMM" or "Japanese version of CMM". Since then, SPI and/or SPA "how to use CMM" has become one of the hottest topics in Japanse software industry. Also, October last year, a non-profit organization called "JASPIC (Japan SPI Consortium)" was organized by a of software-related companies, whose obective was to promote SPI activities in member companies and also all over Japan. This symposium is planned as the first anniversary event of JASPIC in co-opeartion with SEA-SPIN, who is the close partner of JASPIC in their joint effort of translationg CMM-I[SM] documents into Japanese. The symposium features the special guest speaker Dr. Bill Curtis at TeraQuest Corporation. Dr.Curtis is well-known as a co-author of CMM[R] for Software (TR-24) and also as the author of People CMM. Besides of the keynote by Dr. Curtis, several members of SEA-SPIN and JASPIC will present their ideas and reports, and discuss various issues in SPI on the closing panel. Since 1995, SEA (Software Engineers Association) has been supporting the Software Process Improvement activities in Japan, through SEA-SPIN (Software Process Improvement Network) and SEA-CMM translation project. By SEA-CMM translation project, we published SEI official japanese version of "CMM for Software version 1.1" (TR-24 and TR-25) on SEA Web page in PDF format and delivering printed copy of them with minimum charge.
