Call for Position Papers Working Group Sessions at ISFST-2004

This year's ISFST2004 Program incorporates 3 parallel working group sessions in the morning of the 1st day of the symposium (October 20th). (1) Collaborative Support for Open Source Chair: Kouichi Kishida (SRA-KTL, Japan) Proposal submission and/or question to: k2@sra.co.jp Major discussion theme of this WG is how to construct effective support mechanism (both technical and social) for development and use of open source/free software systems. (2) Issues in Software Process Improvement Chair: Prof.Hyuk-Soo Han (Sangmyung Univ, Korea) Proposal submission and/or question to: hshan@sangmyung.ac.kr SPI has been booming now all over the world. This WG will summarize current situation in each countries and discuss various issues and approaches to solve them. (3) Filling the Gap between Practices and State of Arts Chair: Akira Kumagai (TELSOFT, Japan) Proposal submission and/or question to: akira.kumagai@tel.com Theme of this WG is the issue of technology transfer in software engineering field. This topic has been discussed for long time, but still we could not find the final answer yet. The purpose of these sessions is to revive unique characteristics of ISFST through informal and intensive discussion among participants about given topics. Time frame of the working group will consists of 2 parts: the 1st 90 minutes for kick-off presentations, and (after break) the 2nd 90 minutes for open discussion including all participants. Already a few kick-off speakers for each session were selected in the PC meeting. Furthermore, we welcome some more speakers come up front to give opening talks for the discussion. Please select your favorite topic in your registration form and submit your position statement. The session chairs will review your position papers and consider the discussion agenda.
