Wed Oct 1 15:24:15 JST 2003 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ The 1st Joint Workshop on Embedded Software Development Call for Participation (Almost Final Draft) Co-Sponsored by Software Engineering Group of Korean Information Science Society Software Engineers Association (SEA) of Japan (www.sea.jp) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Date: Nov. 20 (Thu) - 21(Fri), 2003 (Pre-workshop tutorials on Nov. 19 for Korean participants) Place: Yonsei University (Seoul, Korea) As the complexity of the application domains for the embedded software systems increases, new industry and research challenges are encountered for achieving desired level of quality and productivity goals. To meet those desires, engineering principals of embedded software became important issues. The aim of workshop is to bring together researchers and developers from academia, industry, and government to advance the engineering, and technology in embedded software development. Through discussions of the latest research, issues, and trends, this workshop will allow researchers and developers working on different aspects to get together and synergize. We are asking to participants to submit a position paper in one of following categories in the context of embedded software and will form a session for presentation and discussions of each category. - Process/Project Management: CMM, SPICE, Costing, Planning etc - Testing/Quality Control: Testcase generation, QA, Environment simulation, Reliability etc - Development Tools/Methods: Real-Time UML, CASE, Components, Formal method, etc - New Paradigm for Embedded System Development: Product Line, Agent Technology, Adaptable Architecture ------------ Organization ------------ General Co-Chairs: Kyo chul KANG (POSTECH, Korea) Kouichi KISHIDA (SRA-KTL, Japan) Program Co-Chairs: Keijiro ARAKI (Kyushu University, Japan) Sung Deok CHA (KAIST, Korea) Organization Chair Byoung Ju CHOI (Ewha Women's University, Korea) Program Committee : Takao FUTAGAMI (Toyo Corporation, Japan), Hoon sun CHANG (KOPEC, Korea), Jin young CHOI (Korea University, Korea), Masahiko ISHIKAWA (SRA, Japan) Masao ITO (Nil Software, Japan), Kee chun KWON (KAERI, Korea), Jang soo LEE (KAERI, Korea), Soo yong PARK (Soogang University, Korea), Keita SATO (Denso, Japan), Ikuko SUZUKI (Sharp, Japan), Kwang keun YI (Seoul National University, Korea) --------------------------- Tentative Program Framework --------------------------- Nov 19 (Wed): Pre-Workshop Tutorial Day 10:00 - 17:00 Tutorials for Korean Participants 18:00 - Welcome Reception for Workshop Attendees Nov 20 (Thu) : 1st day of Workshop 09:30 - 11:30 Opening Session Opening Ceremony and Keynote Talks 11:30 - 13:00 Lunch Break 13:00 -:14:30 Issue Presentation and Discussion (1) - Process/Project Management - Testing/Quality Control 14:30 - 15:00 Coffee Break 15:00 - 16:30 Issue Presentation and Discussion (2) - Development Tools/Methods - New Paradigm for Embedded System Development Nov 21 (Fri): 2nd day of Workshop 09:30 - 11:30 Working Group Discussion (Part-1) 11:30 - 13:00 Lunch Break 13:00 - 14:30 Working Group Discussion (Part-2) 14:30 - 15:00 Coffee Break 15:00 - 16:30 Closing Panel 18:00 - Banquet ---------------------- Call for Participation ---------------------- The purpose of this workshop is to synergize various research ideas and industrial experiences through intensive discussions.
